The Illo is a robotic platform that can perform a soil sample preparation for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) extraction, identification and quantification of environmentally or chemically contaminated material.  The PAL3 RTC based Illo combines a specially engineered tool to manage and transport 40 ml sealed vials, an automated balance, 4 vortex mixers, and an embedded ultrasonic bath. The automated process performs up to 20 soil samples at a time and greatly reduces risks for workers dedicated to VOCs sample preparation.
