Tackling PFAS Challenges with Automated Workflows and More: PAL System at ASMS 2025

The ubiquitous nature and persistence of PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) present significant analytical challenges in environmental monitoring and food safety. Achieving the required sensitivity and throughput, while ensuring robustness and compliance with methods like EPA 1633, demands sophisticated and reliable analytical workflows.

At the upcoming 73rd ASMS Conference on Mass Spectrometry and Allied Topics (June 1-5, 2025, Anaheim, California), we are excited to showcase how PAL System automation provides powerful solutions for these challenges. In collaboration with leading academic and industry partners, we will present fully automated workflows that streamline PFAS analysis from sample preparation right through to injection into LC/MS (Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry) and GC/MS (Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry) systems.

Our posters will detail automated implementations of EPA Method 1633 for environmental samples, sensitive quantitation methods for PFAS in complex matrices like seafood, and workflows for analyzing volatile PFAS in food contact materials. These applications highlight the core strength of the PAL System: its ability to seamlessly integrate complex automated sample preparation steps (like Micro Solid Phase Extraction (Micro-SPE)) with precise automated injection, all controlled through a single, versatile platform.
