Automated SPME-SICRIT-MS for Rapid Screening of Contaminants in Food and Environmental Matrices
Ambient mass spectrometry offers a path to rapid, direct analysis with minimal sample preparation. This note describes a high-throughput workflow for the analysis of both polar and non-polar analytes by coupling automated Solid Phase Microextraction (SPME) with soft ionization by chemical reaction in transfer (SICRIT), a variant of dielectric barrier discharge ionization (DBDI).
Using a PAL RTC autosampler, this workflow enables the rapid screening of contaminants in various water, soil, and food matrices.
