Key functionality of PAL Smart SPME Arrows:

  • Available in 1.1 mm (red body) or 1.5 mm (yellow body) outer diameter

  • Smart SPME Arrow 1.5 mm  - for use with solvents or reagents, that may lead to moderate swelling of PDMS phases

  • 5 coating materials and 2 different film thicknesses

  • Arrow-shaped tip allows smooth vial penetration and injector septa

  • Design fully protects the coating material

  • Color coded to indicate SPME Arrow coating and film thickness

*Widesleeve SPME Arrows with 1.5 mm diameter have the same phase dimensions as the corresponding 1.1 mm SPME Arrows.The space to the outer needle allows phase swelling for special applications i.e. with high amounts of organic solvents. For all standard
applications with aqueous samples we recommend to use 1.1 mm SPME Arrows.

 

SPME Multi Guide to upgrade your SPME Fiber Tool

New: Introducing the SPME MultiGuide

SPME Arrow Tools now are equipped with the SPME MultiGuide. This allows SPME extractions in the Heatex Stirrer or in the Agitator. When using the SPME MultiGuide, the extractions can be done in the Agitator. For immersion extraction a Heatex Stirrer is required.

Detailed information on the specifications and handling of Smart SPME Arrows are available. For automation of SPME Arrow with the PAL RCT and PAL RSI a SPME Arrow Starter Kit is available, as well as an Agitator for agitation/sample Enrichment at up to 200°C, SPME Arrow Conditioning Module and a Heatex Stirrer.

The PAL Smart SPME Arrows are available in order quantities of one, three or five Smart SPME Arrows per box.
For method development, a set of each SPME Arrow type (set of five) is available.

PAL Smart SPME Arrows work with all the PAL3 Systems, however to use the smart capabilities (ID, traceability, usage history)  the PAL3 Series II System is required.

High-throughput Analysis of 1,4-Dioxane in Drinking Water using SPME Arrow–Trap with Multi-Step Enrichment

This application note showcases Solid Phase Micro Extraction (SPME) Arrow-trap technology, combined with multi-step enrichment (MSE) on the PAL3-Centri® platform and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS), to analyze 1,4-dioxane in water samples. The method successfully detects 1,4-dioxane at levels as low as 0.01 μg/L (10 ppt), surpassing the detection limits required by German REACH and US EPA regulations.
