Innovation and Automation at analytica 2026

Munich, Germany | March 24–27, 2026 Visit PAL System: Hall A1, Booth 327

As we prepare for analytica 2026 in Munich, the focus at PAL System is shifting. While "automation" has long been our hallmark, the future we are building is about Intelligence, Integration, and Integrity. In our upcoming showcase at Booth A1.327, we are moving beyond robotic movement to a holistic approach where software, hardware, and consumables act as a unified, "smart" ecosystem. Here is a first look at the innovations we will be unveiling.

Software Updates: PAL Method Composer in the Cloud

This new platform is designed for high throughput; an intuitive setup enables effortless overlapping and prep-ahead workflows, maximizing your instrument's productivity. Even more revolutionary is the introduction of our PAL AI. Imagine a platform that doesn't just execute your commands but understands your analytical goals. The interactive assistant provides full PAL System expertise during method setup, helping you navigate complex steps and creating the exact workflows you need through natural language.

With an intuitive design focused on the highest user experience and "Security by default," this cloud transition also introduces a seamless software update process, ensuring your lab always runs on the latest innovations without dead ends.

Want to see it in action? We will be hosting a dedicated webinar series soon to demonstrate how PAL AI can transform your method development. Visit us at our booth to be the first to register.

The Pipette Tool has liquid level detection, can open/close fliptubes and transport them.

A New "Sense" for Sample Handling: The Pipette Tool LLD FT

The laboratory pipette is often the greatest source of technical variation. Our new iteration, the PAL Pipette Tool LLD FT, transforms this routine task into a smart operation. By incorporating Liquid Level Detection (LLD) and the ability to handle FlipTubes, the tool gains a "sixth sense" and "hands" to manage samples with unprecedented security. It is no longer just a dispenser; it is a comprehensive sample preparation assistant.

With its Gold plunger the syringe has extended durability and delivers high performance with minimal maintenance.

The Heart of Gold: Smart Gold Syringe

However, sometimes you want to use a syringe. Here, the integrity of your sample depends on the reliability of the delivery system. We are proud to showcase our new Smart Gold Syringe. Designed with a "heart of gold"—referring to its superior material durability—this syringe is engineered to outlast standard materials, providing long-term precision for your most demanding high-throughput workflows.

From cosmetics to environmental and life science sample types - PFAS analysis is needed in many fields.

Tackling "Forever Chemicals" with Precision

The analysis of PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) presents a unique challenge: the analytes are everywhere, including the very instruments used to measure them. To support the transition to ultra-trace analysis, we are offering specialized Upgrade Kits for PFAS Analysis. These kits focus on high-purity, components for PFAS analysis, such as PEEK tubing, loops, and wash cups, to minimize background noise and ensure the highest data integrity.

Pesticide analysis can benefit from Micro-SPE cartridge workflows.

Versatility in a Cartridge

Our µSPE (micro-Solid Phase Extraction) cartridges have become the "green" standard for miniaturized extraction. At analytica, we will showcase their incredible versatility. Whether you are performing high-throughput PFAS enrichment, complex lipidomics fractionation, or simple QuEChERS clean-ups, these cartridges provide the sharp elution profiles and reduced solvent consumption that modern laboratories demand.

PFAS in Cosmetics -A Comparative Analysis of Sample Preparation Techniques for PFAS Analysis

This application note explores a comparative study that tackles this challenge head-on by evaluating two powerful sample preparation techniques: Solid Phase Microextraction (SPME) and Micro Solid Phase Extraction (µSPE) for analyzing eight key PFAS in mascara by Liquid Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS). The investigation revealed that the two methods offer complementary strengths. SPME proved more sensitive for water-soluble PFAS and offered a simpler, filtration-free workflow. In contrast, automated µSPE excelled for oil-soluble PFAS but required a sample filtration step.

This poster presents two use cases for streamlined lipid profiling in plasma using automated Micro Solid Phase Extraction (μSPE). Where the workflows on NIST (SRM 1950) plasma samples was tested, with spiked internal standard (Ultimate SPLASH ONE) and optimized the extraction and elution parameters. Briefly, it focused on two cartridge sorbent types Mixed-Mode Cation Exchange (MCX) and C18 (CEC) and showcased their usage.

ASMS 2025 - Fully automated implementation of EPA Method 1633 for LC-MS/MS analysis of PFAS in environmental samples using a customized robotic autosampler

  • Widespread use and persistence of PFAS has led to ubiquitous detection in water, soil, air, and living organisms.
  • US EPA Method 1633 is intended for analysis of PFAS in aqueous, solid and tissue samples using LCMS/ MS at part-per-trillion concentrations.
  • This method involves significant sample preparation and purification steps prior to instrumental analysis, leading to bottlenecks in sample processing.
  • We have developed a fully automated, online μSPE-LC-MS/MS workflow based on a customized LC TriPlus RSH SMART Advanced system for high-throughput analysis of PFAS in environmental samples following EPA Method 1633 guidelines
