PAL RTC – Highest Level of Sample Prep Automation
PAL RTC – Highest Level of Sample Prep Automation

Ingeniously productive

The PAL RTC with robotic tool change maximizes productivity in analytical and clinical labs.

Robotic Tool Change

Robotic Tool Change takes productivity to a new level

  • Automatic selection of the syringe with optimal accuracy for adding standards or preparing serial dilutions

  • Possibility to permanently configure several workflows on one system for a walk-up prep station, e.g. liquid/ liquid extraction and solid phase extraction (SPE)

  • Derivatization reactions performed without manual intervention for productivity, protection against hazardous chemicals and process safety

  • Better process safety through increased automation of labor intensive manual workflows like protein digestion

  • Robotic Tool Change to automatically switch between injection, micromethods (SPME, µSPE,…) and sample prep tools (dilution, standard addition,…)

PAL3 System Configurator

The PAL3 System features a high degree of flexibility allowing users to configure an autosampler for a variety of dedicated uses.

The PAL system configurator guides you step by step to a graphically composed system that meets your specific requirements. It prevents incorrect assembly, validates the selected options, and saves your selection in a configuration file. The instrument configuration can be exported as a PDF or an image. The PDF also contains technical specifications of the included modules and tools.
The PAL System Configurator can run directly after download. No installation is required and therefore it does not require administrator rights to make use of the application.
Instructions on operation and more details are provided in the menu entry 'Help' after application start.

Fully Automated QuEChERS for Organochlorine and Organophosphate Pesticides in Tomato Juice and Red Wine

Using PAL Robotic Tool Change (RTC) system, a fully automated QuEChERS was developed for the extraction and clean-up of organochlorine and organophosphate pesticides from homogeneous samples. The automated QuEChERS workflow includes extraction with acetonitrile, salting out with
saturated sodium chloride solution and the clean-up with PAL μSPE prior to injection into the GC-MS/MS for analysis.

Flavor and Off-Flavor Analysis using Solid Phase Microextraction

Solid Phase Micro-Extraction (SPME) is widely used for chemical analysis of foods, beverages and food contact materials. As an automated technique, the SPME applications are selected for their simplicity, throughput and extraction efficiency.  As a solvent-free extraction, it is gains even more importance today as a green analytic technique. Besides the traditional SPME Fiber, the new SPME Arrow is enhancing trace level sensitivity at high mechanical robustness. With these features, this presentation will give insight on SPME analysis in coffee, wine and off-flavors.

Walk away QuEChERS extracts clean-up

See this detailed video of the µSPE workflow for the clean-up of raw pesticides extract. The µSPE cartridge is operated in scavenger mode eluting the pesticides in a clean extract. The matrix is kept on the sorbent material. The cleaned extract can be injected without waiting time online for LC-MS or GC-MS analysis. All samples are treated on the same time axis for highest reliability.
